Welcome to the Green Room!

Our Green room is full of 3 year olds as well as two main caregivers with one support staff. The children are finding lots of new things they can do for themselves, dressing and undressing, putting on their own coats, and boots. Some are finishing up the potty training, and all of them enjoy time reading puzzles, or creating something in the art center.

Brandy Walker
Brandy found her love for children because of her two nieces. She has an Early Childhood Assitant  Certificate & her First Aid Certificate and is currently attending Mount Royal College part-time  (Fridays) and online taking her Early Childhood worker (level 2). Brandy has lots of energy and likes to watch movies, likes to read and going for walks. Brandy moved to Okotods a few years ago from Saskatoon, Saskatchewan.

Sandi has her Early Childhood Assistant Certificate (level1 ) and many years of experience with children as she worked in a Daycare before she started a family of her own. She has two children; a13 year old daughter and a 17 year old son. Sandi brings lots of energy, respect, patience, and understanding into a room whenever she is interacting with the children, the parents or the staff.

Children at this age can speak clearly enough to be understood most of the time, and they can understand two step directions.(e.g.”Pick up your shoes and put them in the closet”) Children can stand on one foot briefly, can walk up the stairs or steps using the handrail, can throw a ball, twist lids off jars, and turn knobs. They like to turn the pages, listen to music, and stories, dress and undress themselves “with a little help”. Three year olds play make-believe games with actions and words, play alongside other comfortably, and love to show affection.
